Today, Hahn Air operates the industry's leading universal ET (E-Ticketing) platform.

Specialised in generating extra revenue for hundreds of airline partners worldwide, more than 2 million coupons per year are being issued on Hahn Air (HR-169) e-tickets in all GDS globally.
80.000 IATA travel agencies in over 160 countries trust in the services offered by Hahn Air.

Hahn Air has made a profit in each of the last ten years, enjoying an average annual growth rate of more than 20%. 

This is our story :

1994

Hahn Air is founded as an independent regional carrier operating intra German routes. It is based at the former military airbase Hahn, today well-known as the Frankfurt Hahn Airport.

1997
Hahn Air completes the first BSP membership in Germany and obtains the two-letter-designator HR as well as the billing code 169.

1999
Hahn Air flights may be sold in GDS Amadeus.
Hahn Air signs the first interline agreements with four airlines from Latin America: Avianca, Aerolinas Argentinas, Varig and LAN.
This marks the official beginning of Hahn Air´s ticketing platform.

2001
Hahn Air becomes an IATA member airline and joins additional BSP countries mainly in Europe, among them France, Great Britain and Spain.
Hahn Air starts to expand its GDS presence in Sabre, Galileo and Worldspan.

2002
More BSP memberships are completed – including BSPs in several Asian countries and in Australia and New Zealand.
Additional interline agreements are signed with airlines worldwide.

2003
Hahn Air leaves Frankfurt Hahn Airport  and changes its headquarter to Dreieich, 15 minutes away from Frankfurt am Main.
Hahn Air becomes member of the BSPs Scandinavia and completes its 50th BSP membership with joining the Canadian BSP. General Sales agents are appointed in all major markets to support travel agents locally.

2004
Hahn Air complements its scheduled operation with business charter services.
Continuous expansion of BSP memberships worldwide as well as completing its ARC membership in the U.S. Hahn Air joins GDS Abacus.
The 100th Interline Agreement is signed.

2005
Hahn Air purchases its first business jet Cessna Citation Jet 2.
Hahn Air implements BSP memberships in Latin America – amongst others in BSP Brazil and Mexico.

2006
The first Hahn Air e-ticket gets issued in November and only shortly thereafter the first Interline e-ticket.

2007
Hahn Air starts with the IOSA Audit.
The Japanese and Korean market is opened by joining GDS Axess, Infini and Topas.

2008
Following IATA’s Simplifying the Business (StB) mandate, Hahn Air moved to 100% e-ticketing in June.

2009
Hahn Air renews its IOSA certification.
In September, Hahn Air completes its 200th IET – with implementations for Lufthansa, Cathay Pacific and Czech Airlines and operates the industry’s leading universal ET (E-Ticketing) platform.
Hahn Air joins BSPs in Central and Western Africa and obtains a total BSP coverage of more than 150 BSP/ARC memberships worldwide.

2010
As first airline ever, Hahn Air concludes insurance agreement with Generali Versicherung AG to assure travel agents the issuance of insolvency-safe tickets for all Hahn Air partner airlines on HR-169 documents.

As of February 01st, Hahn Air operates flights between Düsseldorf International Airport (DUS) and Findel Luxembourg Airport (LUX) twice a week.

In August, Hahn Air joins BSP Kosovo and therewith has covered all BSP markets in Europe.
Besides, Hahn Air sets up local ticket offices in Non-BSP countries to achieve global presence and to make its ticketing services available to travel agents worldwide.
